I became a caregiver because I have older adults in my family that needed help and I was available to assist them in whatever they needed. I like the role of a caregiver, it gives me a sense of purpose in someone life other than family members. My experience as a caregiver has taught me enough to know how to care for an older adult, in the nursing home, hospital, or if they choose to be at home where they are most comfortable. I love my job. I learn new things and meet new people with amazing stories to share and I truly love to hear the stories. My personal achievement that I'm most proud of, was being able to be there for my father when he needed me the most. He has always been there for me so now it was my turn to do the caring and I enjoyed it to the fullest and I wouldn't trade that for nothing in the world. Hi, My name is Sharon Dennis, and I'm formally from the lovely island of Barbados. What makes me an outstanding Care giver is that it has always been my nature to give back to older ones, not only in a secular setting, but outside my daily working schedule as well . I'm constantly drawn to Mature ones who can no longer help themselves, to the degree they once used to, and so I feel the need to be that special "tool " to help them. I became a care-giver to help restore the dignity that is lost, to such valuable ones in "MY" society. I see no problem giving of my time, strength, ability, to those who no longer posses such. What I treasure most about being a care-giver, is getting to know the client personally ,their childhood, upbringing, memories and talents. The Personal achievement I'm proud of ( which I'm sure any great Aide can attest to ) is transforming the most "difficult" temperamental Client , into a gem and a great friend .

I enjoy assisting clients with daily living activities to enhance their self-esteem. It is beneficial to educate clients and their famiies to keep both parties informed on positive life changing techniques . There is a uplifting sense of personal satisfaction knowing you are making difference in someone's life. I am very friendly and compassionate. All my adult life I have been involved in healthcare. I helped my mom to take care of my grandma from 14 years old. I took care of my mom when she became disabled with Arthritis. I have been helping friends and Nieghbours with disabilities. I love people, my communicative skills are excellent with people of all ages. I love to bring a smile to someone in pain or someone suffering from some other disease. My greatest achievement is when a client ask for me to work with them over and over again. When my services are repeatedly requested by the same client over and over again I know I have done a great job.
