I can be a quiet person at times because I'm shy and I love to make conversation and help other when need at any time to make there day at least a little better .I'm 5'10 Jamaican/Canadian Electrician

I'm a caregiver of 4 years paid, but a lot more not. Caregiving is my calling in life. It's what I love to do. I love being able help the elderly and special needs. I have experience in home health, home healthcare, nursing home experience, hospice experience as well as end of life experience as of recently. I love being a caregiver to not just help those kinds of people out, but rather be there for them in many ways. I never allow my clients to feel like their alone whenever I'm on the shift. Because it's something that I refused to allow my poor daddy to have to go through. To me it's just cruel. I'd say my greatest achievement thus far is being able to say with pride and honor that I was able to be there for my father in that regard. So much so, that he basically trusted me with his life. Meaning I was the one to be able to give him his final ride/journey on this earth. It's something that I don't boast about a lot but I do have clients that remind me so much of him, that in return for the taking a chance on me, I give them the gifts of companionship, empathy, a shoulder to cry on should it be needed, a strong pillar to lay all their fears and worries away, and never having to worry/wonder if their alone. I always reassure them that I'm always here.

I am a great care giver because I respect my clients and their wishes, I love to help people and to make them feel better this is why I have became a cna and a hha.

I initially became a caregiver to assist my sister with her children. I am able to help other people feel better about themselves and have found as a bonus that I receive an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and a thank you or improvement in them actually doubles how I feel good inside. My mother had a severe operation on her neck because of all I had learned I was able to assist her with everything pre and post surgery. I could not have achieved more than being able to basically be my mother's private nurse and therapist , helping her to relearn her adls without her having to be embarrassed because I was family- I owe my mother everything for the woman I have become and I was able to repay a small part of that. I am a positive person and enjoy living my life like that. Real life can be a struggle or an adventure. I choose to accept the journey.I live in new York but am relocating to Florida this month.
