I am a great caregiver because I am a passionate person about my job. I love the duty of taking care of others and helping them. I know I want to be a nurse and open up my own facility one day. I enjoy seeing people smile from my help and caring that I show others. I am proud that I get compliments everyday about how I am great at what I do and to continue to be me.

i chose to be a care giver because i have the greatest passion for helping others. i am a very reliable and dependable person. i started working at the hospital as soon as i was able to and wanted to get a head start in any type of experience in the medical field. with so many options, i wanted to try out different positions to see what i would fit best in. i believe being a caregiver is where i fit best. assisting others and seeing them smile is the most rewarding thing about being a caregiver and making sure they end their day on a positive note and knowing you contributed to that. i am proud to say that i have found my passion in life. i want to help others and their families. I'm currently in the nursing program at Barry University and live in North Miami. I'm cpr and first aid certified. I have the most care experience in senior care and geriatrics at the hospital, at homes, and in rehab facilities.

What makes me a great caregiver is ,I actually care! Honestly I became a caregiver because I needed a job. But it very quickly became so much more than that, I saw how important the work that I do is. You have the privilege of making all the difference in the world to someone who is experiencing perhaps the most difficult and scariest time in they're life. Being that comfort, support (physically& emotionally). Then my mother became ill. With the experience I gained thru my work, it allowed me to understand her process and how to help her, myself and my family at such a difficult time. I have the experience of being care provider and family member. Something about me? I absolutely love what I do! I'm an avid reader, great sense of humor and if you ask me, a great personality :) An achievement that I'm proud of was being able to look beyond myself and help those who are less fortunate. I also do work with a non-profit organization that a friend of mine started(Sisters United, Detroit). We're active in the fight against breast cancer with walks and fund raising. The organization provides meals and clothing for the disenfranchised. We also go into the community and schools to express how important self respect, getting involved in something positive, making a difference thru action and education is. I became a Nursing Assistant 14 years ago at Beaumont Hospital. I found that I have a genuine love for people, especially the geriatric population. Since I only work 3 days at Beaumont I started doing Private Duty several years ago. I find Private Duty much more rewarding. You really get to know the client on a whole different level and can provide better care as opposed to a hospital. My greatest personal achievement has been raising two children who have become fine young adults.
