My name is Sherri Harper, and I have 30 years of experience in customer service and care giving. Most recently, I attended the Caroline Center obtaining my CNA and GNA certification. Prior to attending the Caroline Center, I had several positions that enabled me to be observant, patient, caring, and compassionate. In addition, these positions enabled me the ability to multi-task and problem-solving utilizing critical thinking. My passion as a caregiver began with my grandparents, who I took care of at home on hospice until they passed. This ignited a desire to ensure our seniors had an advocate to assist and care for them at all times. I have additional experience caring for my god-sister's mother and several church members family.

I am a great caregiver because I enjoy helping others and making them smile. I chose to become a caregiver because it seems to be something that comes natural to me so it doesn't feel like work. I always receive compliments from clients about how compassionate and understanding I am. My goal as a caregiver is to make people feel comfortable in their own home while assisting and giving excellent care as well as maintain healthy relationships.

As a Nursing student as well as Certified Nursing Assistant, providing care for people is my passion because it allows me to show my true personality in caring for an individual. I seek caregiving for the need of ones health and well being as well as time for healing. As being a loving, caring person who helps a person to gain their personal independence, providing comforting care and/or being a companion, I do my outmost to make one feels to be treated and feels complete again. Especially adding my bright personality being happy, cheery, youthful, compassionate and understanding, I also incorporate with my care service. Going over and beyond is part of my worth ethics because sometimes a little more attention or time doesn't take away from achieving one's goal in meeting their needs. It just adds a better and a bigger smile to their faces and that gives me the best reward.

I have been a caregiver since 1981.I love taking care of people its all I know. I started out working at a state hospital in Hagerstown Md. That was in 1981. I have worked with adults with disabilities., assisted living , hospice and hospitals. I am now working part time as a home health aide. I love what I do. I couldn't see myself doing anything else

I realized my calling when my son was born as the family nurturer and care giver I had already cared for my dad , when my son was born he was twelve weeks premature , two pounds eleven ounces . Nursing him back to health along with a team of nurses and doctors gave me some insight to what I would really like to do with my life, I really enjoy caring for people .What I like best about being a care giver I can help people in unique ways ever person is different .MY personal achievement that I am proud of is that I have successfully raised four beautiful children two have completed college, one is in his third year of college and one is a junior in high school making plans to go to college. Now that my children are growing up I plan to go back to school to study nursing .

I became a caregiver on many aspects. First I am a loving family person I love everything about having a family and being able to help other families keep their family members home and not have to go into a different home because of me just makes my heart melt. To be a well dedicated caregiver you have to have the passion for the care you are providing. My passion for my residents are beyond just a caregiver-resident relationship. I look at my residents as family.

I'm caring. I have good communication with others. I care about the safety well being. My achievement is making sure that the patient is happy. I really enjoy helping elderly because they can't always do for themselves.

I became a caregiver in 1999 because my father whom I took care of 95% of the time while being a single mother of 7 children was asking me so many questions that I could not answer then I attended a certified geriatric nursing assistant class and took care of him to the best of my abilities. I enjoyed knowing that I was helping other people besides my family members to put a smile on their families faces at the end of the day when I left their love ones back in their care. To show my children that what ever life throws at you can finished anything but my biggest four accomplishments are two high school graduate children one straight A student heading for law school and one of my child following in my footsteps. I am a proud single mother whom thrives everyday to accomplish everything that might seems impossible to others in my current situation
