I am seeking a dedicated caregiver located near Land O Lakes, FL to help my mom shower (plus a rotating schedule of other grooming needs, plus helping her use the toilet as the need arises) daily from 11am to 1pm; if that’s done early you can assist me with meal prep do her. She’s paralyzed on one side, so the caregiver will need to be skilled at transfers using a gait belt and will need to be mindful of keeping her right shoulder in joint as much as possible. Importantly, mom has severe expressive aphasia, slight receptive aphasia, some agnosia, and some impulsivity due to her stroke six months ago. The caregiver should understand these conditions and how they differ vastly from conditions such as dementia or being hard of hearing. Before her stroke she was completely independent. She was and is intelligent and creative, often finding creative ways to communicate her needs nonverbally. I am also open to schedules that omit one or two of the days of the week from this routine.
