I became a caregiver because i am a nurturer by nature, what I love about being a caregiver is the fact I can bring some sunshine into lives of the people i care for. My most personal achievement are the letters and phone call I received from the families that I have provided care for, they let me know how much they appreciated and that I provided them with great service. The families let me know how much better and easier I made their lives and that they loved me and how they consider me to be family. That's a blessing within itself to know how I had such an impact on the family and just to hear hear these things warms my heart. I have been certified for 24yrs and i have worked in nursing home for 10yrs, a rehab aide for 4yrs, alzheimer's/dementia pt 24yrs, I have work with paralyzed pt for 6 yrs and i have worked in assisted livings and nursing agencies for 12yrs and hospice has been my passion for the last past 15yrs. I love it because it is a pleasure and a blessing to be on the journey of life with someone who is alone and has no one to hold their hand at the end of their life. Don't get me wrong this is by far the hardest job I have ever had but it is by far the most filling and rewarding job as well.
