I consider myself to be an excellent caregiver because of my high level of patience, empathy, and compassion for others. I am also very dependable, reliable, knowledgeable, and have a keen sense of observation when patient care is involved. I have been a dedicated caregiver for ten (11) years. I became attracted to being a caregiver after making weekly visits to the nursing home and retirement home to have lunch with family members. My visits would always turn into me helping other residents that lived at these homes. It warmed my heart to put a smile on their faces while assisting them with their needs. Knowing that I have the ability to make a difference in someone's life brings a great amount of joy to my heart. Helping the elderly gives me a greater sense of purpose and a profound sense of gratitude for having this unique ability. Also, I enjoy getting to know the person that I'm caring for, as well as, helping to maintain their quality of life. Being a caregiver has been very rewarding for me, and I have accomplished so many things in the process. At my very first position as a caregiver, I became the team leader of the group that I worked alongside. I received the proper training, became CPR and BLS certified, educated patients and their family members on the patient's physical disabilities, and directed a team of five (5) caregivers in the absence of a nurse without incident. As a team leader, and by recommendation of staff and family members on the exceptional care that I provided, I decided to make life as a caregiver more engaging and valuable. I opened my own private caregiving service and have been in business for ten (9) years.
