Hi, My name is Linda. After high school I became a psychiatric tech. I worked with special needs children and adults for 10 yrs. After raising my children I became self employed and took classes and received my caregiver certificate and my CNA. I have chosen to be a caregiver because I find it rewarding and I enjoy making their days brighter and helping them to be safe and to be able to stay in their own home.I consider myself to give quality care and to be a kind, caring compassionate person. I take pride in the quality of care I give and I will care for your loved one in the same way that I would care for my parents. I have background check,first aide and CPR. They become like family. My goal is to care for your loved one and give them the quality of care that they so deserve in this point of their lives. And to do whatever they need to have done in order to keep their house in order etc. You can have peace of mind that I will make sure your loved one has Dr appointments meds. personal appointments and whatever needs taken care of so you don't have to worry when you are unable to be with them. I have worked closely with Hospice and it is very important to me to make sure the patient is kept in a peaceful, comfortable and loving environment. I have chosen taking care of the elderly because I have always loved caring for people and helping them with their needs and making their days happier, safer and each day to look forward to. I also recently took classes and I am now licensed with the State to be a provider for a live in special needs adult. I started my journey as a caregiver with my father who had cancer. This snowballed into taking care (at the same time) of my husband who was diagnosed with cancer also. They died a year apart from one other. My experience in caregiving for them is priceless. The lessons I learned are invaluable. After that I moved in with a elderly lady who needed assistance with cleaning, cooking, bathing, doctor appointments, ect. She died three years later. About that time my mother was needing more assistance. I handled her health issues (which were many), cleaning, cooking, entertainment. I cared for her through hospice at my home when the time came. I then for two years worked with a lady who had dementia and type one diabetes. I have a tremendous amount of empathy for senior citizens. They are wonderful people who need companionship and help doing their day to day chores. The older you get, the harder it gets for simple everyday actives, chores. I am compassionate, honest and have a great sense of humor. I would love to get to know you.
