Physically robust, energetic mature caregiver with upper body strength tempered by a respectful demeanor and gentle touch. I have a decade plus experience specializing in one on one care in clinical and home settings; prior to residing in AZ have had certification as a CNA and Home Health Aide (per Medicare requirements) in Florida, Georgia, and Ohio. Excellent personal references and spotless record, compassionate and flexible with ability to pay attention to details without losing sight of the big picture. Moved onto a successful career with AIG and retired at sale of business unit by corporation. In interim I have been a volunteer caregiver to friends and family post-surgically, including a special needs child. The attributes that make me stand head and shoulders above peers is that my decision to work as a caregiver is by choice and preference, not because it is the apex of my ability. My personality is positive and compassionate, with the right mixture of being bubbly when needed without being overbearing or inappropriate. Caregiving is something innate to my nature and character. My only regret is not in having attended nursing school when I was younger. Another attribute I have is that I tend to anticipate needs before they are expressed, and thus am ready to respond to requests with easy transition.

I have always loved people, but have had a special feeling for those with disabilities. Creating an environment where their lives are made easier and enriched has always appealed to me. As a spouse of a military veteran, there have been ample opportunities for volunteer work. This includes teaching Sunday School, Girl Scouts, Veteran Programs and nursing homes. I have a deep respect for the Elderly and Disabled, having been exposed to these situations frequently. Personal interests include painting, crafts and cooking with flair:) It is truly challenging to create meals for diabetics and special sodium needs, and making them desirable. I find it enriching being around the Elderly with their stories, experiences and challenges. I sincerely believe that each person can live a quality lifestyle, and sometimes it just takes someone willing to go that extra mile to help them when they need it. In the event a client is located close to me, I am willing to negotiate with my fees.
