I became a caregiver unexpectedly when my father became terminally ill back in 2007. I took care of him for the last year of his life and one of the last things he said to me was that I should go into this as a career. He felt I had a gift so I became a certified caregiver and a CNA over the next 2 years. Since then I have taken care of my father in law and an elderly lady I befriended when I sold her my dad's lift chair and realized she had no family to take care of her. I took care of her like she was my mother by dispensing her medication, taking her to doctor appointments and hospital stays, and provided companionship. She trusted me enough to request I become her POA when she went on hospice. I lost her in December of 2014, but we had a great 4 years together. I have also worked in this field through various agencies and have had numerous clients call and request me to come back. One client's son kissed my hand the day we had to put his dad in a home and said to me "because of you my father got a few more months of living at home." That was a good moment for me. :) I do this in memory and in honor of my dad. I have a Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences and several certifications in fitness and nutrition. I've been married for 24 years and have no human children, but the loves of my life are my two pitbulls Dudie and Tova and my little Yorkie Francis. My service area is the East Valley.
