I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping our seniors with everyday life, I enjoy learning about their lives, I like for them to know that they still matter even as they grow older, that someone still has time for conversation. I know that their families have busy lives and while they do care very much for their elders, their everyday lives are complicated with taking care of everyday issues like the bills. I want to be that person they can lean on to let their aging family member know how special they are to them, I do not want to replace them, I just want to be there when they cannot. I believe that I have stated pretty well what I like about being a caregiver. I am proud that I have overcome some devastating things in my life and have moved on to be a better person who has a great deal of patients, caring attitude, loving respect for others, and want to share a smile with our aging community. I enjoy making others smile and bringing laughter to someone Else's life no matter what is going on in my personal life. I do not bring any personal problems to work with me, I do not feel like you should make someone feel unhappy because you may have issues to deal with, personal problems should stay personal and not a problem for the people you are helping.
