My name is Arlette, My journey working with seniors started when I cared for my grandmother when she needed the help about 10 years ago. After that I noticed I enjoyed caring for the elderly and spending time with them. I love listening to their stories and learning from their experiences. I see them and treat them as my family. I like to help them get the best quality of life under their circumstances. I feel a sense of accomplishment every time it's time for me to leave their house and they have a smile on their faces. That lets me know they are happy and feel safe under my care. I have worked with people suffering from different illness like: Alzheimer's and dementia, cancer, hospice, C Diff. I like to have a good and close relationship with my client's families and work together with them. I can provide letters of recommendation if they are needed.

As she was dealing with C-Diff, I took care of her daily routine, monitoring her vitals, her grooming, meal preparation. I would help her do the grocery list and sometimes do some shopping. I administered her medications and nebulizer. Accompany her in her daily rehabilitation work outs, go for walks. Also helped her organize her house and clothes and do some light housekeeping. Made sure to give her the best quality of life under her circumstances until her end.

I cared for all of John's needs, he was in late stage of dementia and Alzheimers. His grooming included: showering, hair cuts, shaving, nails, brushing teeth, etc. I would be in charge of his meal preparation, administering his medications, monitoring his vitals, monitoring and irrigating his foley catheter, changing his bag when needed. Keeping his room and clothes organized and clean. Taking him for walks, dancing and singing with him. Keeping him company to give him the best quality of life under his circumstances.
