My name is Michelle Brooks and I am a caregiver. I enjoy caregiving because it gives me personal satisfaction that I am able to help my clients live an easier and happier life. I have always had a naturally caregiving spirit, and that is what motivated me to become a registered nurse. I started the RN program at Antelope Valley College in August of 2016 and I consider that to be one of my greatest acheivements. Getting here has been the hardest part this far, however I wouldn't take any of it back, especially the experiences that I have had with my clients while working as a caregiver. I have a fantastic work ethic and any one of my previous bosses/clients will tell you the same. I will make sure that my job is not only done at the end of the work day, but accomplished with a keen eye to detail and an importance set on the happiness and fulfillment of my clients. It is a profession that found me. It started with a next door neighbor I had once. She was an elderly lady and needed help with small things in the beginning and then gradually our relationship grew to the point where I was completely taking care of her and I enjoyed her company so much it didn't seem like a job to me. I fell in love with being a caregiver and the rest is history. My personal achievement would be going back to school and graduating at the top of my class. It's never too late to reinvent yourself. I have since went on to work at a senior living community and have had a lot of fun working there. I recently received my CNA license.
