Act independently and in conjunction with the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) and Mental Health Evaluation Team (MHET) to provide medical, medication and psychiatric support services to clients residing in the CSU. Prepare and maintain documentation related to client services to impact positive and healthy change for a diverse clientele. Apply the principles, standard practices, and techniques of psychiatric nursing as defined by the State of California licensing requirements. Utilize daily documentation of medications in compliance with the federal, state and local laws and regulations governing the nursing. Perform case management duties, including holistic clinical assessments, treatment planning, providing safe nursing care and delivery of services. Provide patient education, able to direct and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team and ensure effective aftercare. Educate patients on signs, symptoms and side effects of psychotropic medications. Create and maintain relationships with hospitals, police departments/jail, mental health and community health. Coordinate and organize county wide crisis service requests. Educate and train local law enforcement on mental health services, practices and resources.

Prepare and provide medications for chronic and severe mentally ill clients, provide medication refills, complete prior authorizations for medications with various insurance companies, perform nursing procedures such as psychiatric injectable medications, vital signs, finger stick blood sugar, clean and apply dressing to minor wounds. Transcribe phone orders from physicians. Also perform as a case manager and assess clients for suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation and grave disability, asses physical health needs, prepare referrals to physicians, provide treatment, rehabilitation and supportive services, provide education to clients for appropriate medical referrals, act as a liaison between clients and various doctors, perform necessary medi-cal billing, and answer multiple phone lines, file, fax/copy machine and various office duties.

Companionship and conversation, meal preparation and planning, light housekeeping, general assistance, personal care assistance (bathing, dressing & grooming).

Assist patients with severe depression by performing NeuroStar TMS treatment for those who suffer with severe depression and anxiety disorders, assist with all medication encounters including medication refills, prior authorizations and act as a liaison for patients and doctors requiring information about medication, side effects, and other psychiatric related issues, complete chart preparation for multiple doctors and nurse practitioners, collect copays, file, fax, manage multiple phone lines, schedule patients and complete various office duties.

Assist patients with medication, admissions for psychiatric stability, refills, vital signs, appointment scheduling, multiple phone lines, disability forms, medication prior authorization, filing, faxing, pull/prepare charts and various office/receptionist duties.

Provide a safe enviroment for individuals who are mentally ill, search for contraband, provide a therapeutic milieu, co facilitate groups, teach individuals how to deal with life experiences, prompt medication, provide medical treatment

Supervising developmental disabled clients, administer medication, documenting on a daily basis, assisting with bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, meal prep, taking clients on outings into society, provide safe enviroment, watching/documenting behavioral & psychiatric care
