I have been raised in care homes since I was 5 years old, so care for the elderly and people in general has been instilled in me since I was young. I became a caregiver because of my genuine care for others, not only the elderly but I know how hard it is for the families and I want to help them out as much as possible as well. What I like about being a caregiver is knowing that I can possibly make a difference in somebody's life- if I can do that, at the end of the day, I'm happy. A personal achievement I am proud of is getting my LVN license. My mom is a nurse and we have had residential care homes for 26 years now. I have been working with my mom running them for the last 10 years after my step dad passed away. Getting my LVN license was like fulfilling a lifelong dream. I am hoping to further my education also.
