In the beginning it was the basic needs twice a week, & I could continue to work full-time. When mom had surgery, she needed wound care, feedings etc. At this time I was in between jobs, my mother was diagnosed with cancer & dementia, needed 24/7 care but she has always wanted to be with family, she was Japanese & felt more comfortable at home. Knowing I can help make somebody else be happier & especially elderly people. The personal achievement I am most proud of is knowing I can make a difference in the quality of an elderly persons life. I was born in Mesowa, Japan, my father was in the Air Force. My parents divorced here in Colorado Springs, my father raised my sister & I in Oklahoma, & I went on to college for a year at Phillips University while working at St Mary's Hospital in Oklahoma. I moved back to Colorado to be closer to my mother after having my first daughter, I've lived in Colorado Springs for almost 36 years. I have two daughters, 1 son, 8 grandchildren. I've been separated for 8 years. I can sew, do crafts occasionally, like gardening, getting my hands dirty, I enjoy hiking & outdoors, like listening to music & traveling, occasionally watch football, & basketball. I enjoy going to church and I pray. I am honest, peaceful loving person, strong willed. This is me. I hope you will consider me. Thank you very much.

My granny also known as my best friend had became very ill around 2013/2014 and my mother worked a full time job, she didn't have anyone to help her take care of my granny so I told my mother that I would provide for her. I took care of her day in and day out, I enjoyed bonding with her and getting to know and understand her interest. It allowed me to care for someone else aside from myself and build a remarkable bond. That experience encouraged my choice in major for college. Hello, I'm Nicole and I was raised In Germany and Denmark before moving to the USA with my mom in ...well a long time ago. Growing up in a diverse social service worker household, where my Summers and all my school breaks were spent in camps and day cares with kids/adults with special needs, I never considered a career in anything BUT taking care of others. I remember my Great grandma going through the stages of Alzheimers and not fully understanding this, but feeling that she needed lots of love. While so many people are unhappy about their employment I feel blessed to have mine. I'm happy to say that I love doing what I do and I get to do it 24/7It is not a job to me it is my life, my history and my future. I am a highly energetic woman and I love to bring joy to others. At the same time, I'm patient and compassionate and I respect that everyone's situation is unique and needs to be treated as such. I spent nearly 20 years in case management and I came to realize how much I missed Direct Care, especially after taking care of my daughter. One of my favorite sayings is " It is an honor to take care of the ones that once took care of us' I have many many years of experience in a very diverse Social Service background and I don't shy away from any responsibilities.
