Caregiver Experience: In the past 14 years I've been both a live-in and live-out caregiver, companion and personal assistant for multiple clients. I've assisted with daily living activities, companionship, meals, transportation and medications reminders. a) I helped a friend take care of her mother for 3 months while she was under the care of Hospice. I monitored her insulin shots and medications. b) I've been a part of four end-of-life transitions while working with Hospice. c) I helped my sister during her recovery after a kidney transplant. d) I helped both my mother and a friend with their rehabilitation exercises and recoveries after having had strokes. - Special Interest/Skill: Listening, Problem Solver - Background: 20+ years as an application programmer. - Other: If you're aware of the Myers-Briggs type indicator (MBTI); I'm an INFP (Introvert; Intuition; Feeling; Perception) I've had a life long interest in communication and have participated in numerous workshops and classes in communication styles.
