These five traits I have listed below are the traits that best describes the type of Healthcare Provider I am: Patience: Possessing this trait is necessary in this field of work. Being patient means that you empathize and understand there may be changes in the Client's needs and wants and expect that some things may not go as quickly as planned, and there may be some hesitation at times on the part of the person receiving care. Compassion: To truly have the ability and knowledge of what your client is feeling and experiencing takes a certain type of individual to understand. Compassion is not trait that can be taught to someone. You either are a compassionate person or you are not. Compassion is a trait that comes naturally to myself. Attentiveness: When providing home care to a Client, the Caregiver needs to display attentiveness to the needs and changes that may take place in the Client. Being attentive and aware of the Clients needs is to always be aware of any physical and emotional changes that you may encounter and to always make sure that it Dependability: Families and the Senior Client become dependent on the Caregiver. Having consistency and a plan of action in hand will most likely eliminate any type of unfamiliarity and confusion which usually happens with patients that have Dementia or Alzheimer's. Trustworthiness: Caregivers are often in a position where they may have access to the belongings of the person they are caring for. I am known to be rebutable, trustworthy, protective and will not breach that trust by taking advantage of the person that I am caring for. My priority is to protect, serve, observe and report. I treat all my Clients with dignity and respect. I enjoy caregiving because I know that I am helping someone in need and that makes me happy.
