About Alicia

I used to be an RN for 14 years I mainly worked in hospitals for the first 10 years of my nursing career, then in the last five years i worked for visiting nurses in Yucca Valley and I also worked for a hospice group by the name of Odyssey In Palm Desert. But I have not worked very much in the past 11 years as I went into a coma that lasted four months When I got discharged I was incontinent of urine, as I had a prolapsed bladder. Which resulted from having a catheter for the entire four months. Than I had a mesh implant to repair the prolapsed bladder, that has not gone well for me. Just this year in june I finally got relived of my profound incontinence. I had an implant put into my hip which I feel now I have a true relief of my incontinence.. but as far as working with patients, I feel with all of my experiences from working in a medical surgical unit to working in ICU, CCU at Eisenhower and at Hi Desert Medical Center, I feel confident that I could give my patient a loving and caring environment. that would help my patient flourish in my care.

    I worked in a telemetry floor, and also in ICU/SCU/CCU, and I worked in a Vascular Lab, in this area is where I probably learned the most. We were doing declotting of fistulas for the dialysis patients we were also doing the stroke patient, either by declotting the brain clot or by embolizing the bleed in the brain. we were also cementing sections of the spine, where surgery failed, My job was documentation and conscious sedation, and getting the wires for the tech and interventional radiologist who did the procedures.and of course assessing the patient when he first arrived in the lab watching his heart rate and wave form and all his vital signs and and making them aware when there was a problem. Also assessing them before they left the lab, and giving report to the floor nurse.
