Some 25 years as a caregiver and now a CNA, there is no doubt in my mind that I am cut out to do this job. It is a desire to be able to responsibly take care of those who are depending on us as caregiver, to make their quality of life much easier by assisting them in their daily living; 1. SAFETY is an utmost importance to keeping client healthy. 2. preparing their nutritious, balance meals as recommended by their doctors. 3. assisting them in their personal hygiene. 4. Daily Range of Motion as prescribed by their PT 5. Light housekeeping including laundry. 6. Assisting in their Social and Doctors appointments. 7. doing errands like food shopping, pharmacy pick up and more. 8. driving to appointments. 9. Knowledge of board games which is crucial to promoting a healthy memory. 10.Implementing and or making Care Plans based on prescribed care by their doctors. The JOB maybe challenging at times, but at the end of the day client's comfort and satisfaction that counts. As an 8 year old kid, i felt that desire to care for my grandparents when they needed help. As a young adult, I took care of some members of the family who were not well. Then, over 10 years ago to present, i still have the same desire to care as an on call volunteer to a hospice residents at a facility in pacifica.
