Hi, my name is Carmina. I hold a Bachelor's in Nursing degree and am a licensed nurse in the Philippines. I moved to California in 2013 and applied for the California Board of Nursing to obtain a license here. However, they require that I retake two courses because Philippine's curriculum is different from California's curriculum. I am looking to fulfill my last requirement. I choose to become a nurse because I'm passionate about caring and helping others and want to eventually take care of my grandparents and my mother in the Philippines. One personal achievement I'm proud of was being able to connect and talk with a patient who at first, refused to talk to or receive medicine from anyone including doctors. I enjoy getting to know my patients and learning more about them. I feel it is important to treat the patient as a human being instead of a job. I care for my patients like I would care for my grandmother or mother. What I like about being a Caregiver is simply knowing that I have done my best in helping someone. I feel a accomplished and fulfilled when the patients are satisfied with their care.
