At an early age I seemed to connect with older adults and like to help out when needed. I have had many older friends as mentors that taught me a variety of life skills. These wise mentors taught me love, compassion and service to others which I am able to bring to my clients. My position was as a private caregiver/companion for an 88 year old woman with Alzheimer's/Dementia. I was with her 45 hours a week, 8am to 5pm. I took care or all bathing needs, meal preparation, light housework, outings, giving medications, help with dressing, assisting with mobility. I was asked by her son, whom she lived with, to take her out to a restaurant two time a week. The family put her into a nursing home/memory unit in March. I had a good rapport with the family and have excellent references from them.

Hello, I'm Nicole and I was raised In Germany and Denmark before moving to the USA with my mom in ...well a long time ago. Growing up in a diverse social service worker household, where my Summers and all my school breaks were spent in camps and day cares with kids/adults with special needs, I never considered a career in anything BUT taking care of others. I remember my Great grandma going through the stages of Alzheimers and not fully understanding this, but feeling that she needed lots of love. While so many people are unhappy about their employment I feel blessed to have mine. I'm happy to say that I love doing what I do and I get to do it 24/7It is not a job to me it is my life, my history and my future. I am a highly energetic woman and I love to bring joy to others. At the same time, I'm patient and compassionate and I respect that everyone's situation is unique and needs to be treated as such. I spent nearly 20 years in case management and I came to realize how much I missed Direct Care, especially after taking care of my daughter. One of my favorite sayings is " It is an honor to take care of the ones that once took care of us' I have many many years of experience in a very diverse Social Service background and I don't shy away from any responsibilities.
