Created and taught basic, practical English to adult Speakers of Other Languages with a focus on strengthening their spoken English to enable them to find employment. March -June 2021.

I teach students from elementary grades to adult learners in reading and writing and listening and speaking skills. I tailor the lessons to meet my students' learning goals and interests.

Recently, I provided companion care for a 75-year-old woman. Due to a back injury, she stayed mainly in bed. She took a variety of supplements and pain medications daily. I managed her supplements to make sure she was following the prescribed schedule as well as provided pain meds when needed. I also prepared her nebulizer, her meals, did light housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping and ran errands for her. When the weather was nice, I made sure she got some exercise by helping her walk outside to the deck and feed the neighborhood geese. I also engaged her in conversation as an alternative to her just watching T.V. In the time I was with her, I saw an improvement in her mood, appetite, weight and mobility. She also became more independent. She didn't require assistance with bathing but I have experience with this service while I was taking care of my mother. I greatly enjoy assisting seniors as this type of work provides me the opportunity to use my caregiving skills in serving the needs of the elderly. I am patient, compassionate, accommodating, positive, hardworking, and enjoy interacting with people. In addition, I have no problem taking care of pets.
