I am a strong independent loyal and compassionate. I take pride in doing my job as RN. So many people work so hard all their lives to end up needing help and not many are willing to help or give their dedication to those who are in need. I always find myself going above and beyond caring for my patients and treating them with the respect they deserve. I started the career choice as a RN because I had a great loss in my life at a young age in my early 20's and the 2 nurses at my side showed me how truly it was to be kind and compassionate to a stranger. So for this experience is why I chose to pursue my education to become a nurse and it was one of the best decision I have ever made. I love caring for people of all ages. I have been a hospice nurse for the past 12 years for which of these past 8 years I have cared for hospice patients in their homes. People whether they are just aging, having disease progression or at EOL they deserve the utmost respect, love and have their needs be cared for while maintaining their dignity. My kind compassionate personality alone has my patients and their families expressing their gratitude and to make someone feel a little better whether it's physically or emotionally than they were before meeting me makes my job very rewarding that I had helped someone who may have felt very helpless. I believe my proudest personal achievement is my children. Especially my oldest who is 21 years old and just graduated college herself. She watched her mother work 2 jobs pursue college studying for many hours and for the most part seen what a hard dedicated mother and all I have been doing was for her although at her young age she wouldn't come to realize this until she matured. She just graduated to obtain her BSN and is a military nurse. Her first job interview for nursing she was asked "who is your biggest inspiration" for which she answered "my mom." Being my children's inspiration is my life's greatest achievement.
