My first job at 16 years of age was at a nursing home as a nurse's aide. I absolutely loved it. I formed a bond with many of the elderly there. So after early retirement from teaching, I knew I wanted to work with the elderly again but more one on one as I have been doing. I feel I am an excellent caregiver because all of my former clients have rated me a 10 when the company asks for feedback. I also go above and beyond. Making sure the house is cleaned thoroughly every day on my down time from assisting my client. I like to cook and bake for them and really share great conversations and try to get them encouraged to do activities, even if its only small activities they can do to keep them stimulated and enjoy life.
