About Sarah

My names Sarah Merchant, Below you'll find some information to become better acquainted with me, along with links to my resume and certifications. I Received my CNA in Pittsburgh, PA., & spent the next several years working in facilities, in-home health and acute rehab's. Through those experiences I learned an overwhelming amount about patient care. I'm currently in the process of applying and testing to receive my CNA in Florida, where I've called home the past 13 years. I'm a certified HHA & former CNA Utilizing a proactive approach, along with Decisive and Knowledge-Based Judgments to provide your loved one with empathic, altruistic, attentive, & diligent patient care. Since working in facilities, & in home health, it has been my experience that patient care is about so much more than ADL's. Yes, Walking, feeding, dressing, grooming, Toileting, bathing, & transferring are pertinent requirements when living independently. To a greater degree, IADL's are key to managing independence. Managing finances, transportation, medications, communications, house cleaning & home maintenance are key. However, When looking at tasks of daily living, one thing that can't be taught is companionship. It only comes with experience. You can live independently, but without a gentle touch, relationships or conversation, emotional well-being & ones sense of self purpose is lost. It also has a profound effect on a patients health, & state of mind. Its impractical to make a positive impact or change without them feeling emotionally and physically safe. Besides providing patient care, my main focus is to make sure your loved ones health, daily tasks and emotional needs are met. Hello my name is Lynda Evans First I want to offer my condolences for your loved one. I understand completely as I cared exclusively for my father for 5 years with congestive heart failure, diabetes, and strokes. I don't just do care giving I am a born Caregiver. Everybody deserves respect and compassion when facing life's challenging obstacles. I also have had medical challenges I have had to overcome and understand how important it is to be positive and stress free and not to focus on what you can't do but accentuate what you can. My clients are very happy with me and would personally ask for me to come take care of them. I even had one gentleman who was very shy about bed bath cracking up. I love and care for each individual as my own, and want them to feel the best they can in a comfortable atmosphere. I cared for a lady who started having brain surgery at 20 and she was in her 70's when I cared for her. She also was difficult to understand but with patients I learned to communicate with her very well. I have cared for Alzheimer, Stroke, Cancer, Bed and Wheel Chair bound, and much more...... ALSO: I am very organized, great on cleaning, laundry and cooking: GOOD FOOD not junk. I also do not smoke, or take any medications. I have a HHA CERTIFICATE and CNA license, Alzheimer/dementia along with HIV/AIDS certificate. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. I have impeccable references if you so choose was unable to list them all on this site I may be a little higher but guarantee I am worth all of that and more and my past employers will agree with this Lynda Evans
