* Provides active treatment, assistance, and/or instruction to individuals in the areas of dressing, grooming, toileting, bathing, eating, sleeping, behavior interventions, corrective devices, and medical care as needed. * Supports the operations of the program areas as assigned to promote a positive work environment for the staff and a positive home/school/day program environment for the individuals. * Engages individuals in accordance with their programs and plans. Ensures that individual programs and guidelines are followed and documented. * Uses positive reinforcement to encourage engagement from staff and individuals. * Participates in on-going training and in-services. * Makes on the spot corrections and reports any concerns to the shift supervisors in a timely manner. * Assists and supports individuals in the school, day program, or community inclusion environments to learn new skills, maintain existing skills, and/or choose and engage in activities. * Completes all required documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner. * Addresses and corrects health, safety, and environmental concerns. * Adheres to Horizons' policies and procedures. * Encourages teamwork among staff by promoting effective communication and resolving conflicts. * Makes appropriate decisions in emergency and other extenuating circumstances and/or notifies the Supervisor/Administrator-on-Call when situations arise that need clarification.
