I am very kind, caring, and compassionate and love to help people. I have lots of experience with working with adults with special needs and of advanced age. I am a mother of 3 older children and enjoy reading and painting.

I have been a caregiver since I was a child. My dad had polio and my mom had other physical problems so, I became their caregiver. As an adult, I have enjoyed Hospice work, working with dementia patients and working with children. I feel like helping others is what my purpose in life is. I enjoy it and love meeting and learning from new people.

I enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where I have one-on-one interaction with others. I enjoyed taking care of elder family members and would like to help others in this way. I like older adults and feel I can get along well with a variety of elders. I like doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone’s life. I like doing a variety of tasks in a day. I don’t ever say, “that’s not my job” but instead like pitching in to do whatever is needed. I like making someone smile and doing little things to make a person’s day better. I take pride in I pay attention to detail. I don’t want a desk job; I'd like being physical in my job and using my body as well as my brain. I'm seeking a career with growing opportunities. I don’t want to invest in many years of formal education but I'm are willing to learn new skills and take continuing education to do your job well. I feel that when I'm are older, you’d want someone like yourself there to help you if you need help.

I have been a caregiver all my life. It is rewarding but has its challenges and opportunities. I am 56 years old but I am in good health and I have cared for my parents and my spouses parents also I have cared for my spouse. These things include tuberculosis coughing, my dad but he passed away from a blood clot passing through his leg,my mother had cancer, my father in law had dementia and alzheimer's and parkinson, my step dad was burned and I cared for him with 3rd degree burn but I did not change his bandages, schizophrenia was what my mother in law had and my spouse had colon leakage and had a colostomy which I helped care for him until it was reversed he was diagnosed with diverticular The parents have passed which I was the primary care provider. I started getting paid when my girlfriend ask me to care for one of her patients because her and her mother had something they had to do one weekend and I got paid for it and I have been doing it ever since. I have had great satisfaction in the result of my experiences in taking care of the persons that were trusted in my care. I have sit and watched an IV drip and make sure the patient was comfortable. I have cared for a man that his wife needed a break for the weekend so she could get some rest. I have taken care of a comatose patient so the mother could go get her hair done. I have achieved and I am proud of me because I am a caregiver and I have love and compassion for people.

I enjoy being a caregiver because it gives me the opportunity to give back to someone who truly needs it as well as hearing stories from older people is amazing to me the lives that they lived and the things that they could tell also everyone deserves a chance to pass happily in a good place a good environment with good people taking care of them and I hope one day someone is stubborn as me can see it in their hearts to take care of me if I get to be to where I need some help.
