My name is Chelsea. I have worked in nursing homes/ primary care for 10 years. I find myself a very caring, compassionate, patient and understanding person. I try to find the good in every situation. In the last year I took a break from healthcare and took a position in childcare. Somewhat the same as care giving but on the other end of the spectrum. I enjoy creating relationships with my patients and giving them the care they deserve. While working in elderly care I found a majority of the staff was there for the paycheck, I can't say that for myself. I felt important as I became closer with my residents as they felt the comfortable with me as they couldn't with some of the staff. Caring for people makes me feel good because I am making someone feel happy and that is important at their time in life no matter what age, Having to have help is always hard and to have someone that understands , is patient and kind is key in my eyes.

Sincere companionship, listening and hearing what my clients express through observations of physical and emotional status opens the opportunity for me to address issues with gentle non-judgemental compassion manner.

Becoming a Caregiver was out of necessity, to fulfill one woman's simple request of not being placed into a nursing home. She had had a challenging childhood: daily nourishment often was tea and bread; coats were used as blankets during the evening. She persevered during her marriage, raising a brood of children while being the dutiful wife. So, when called upon, it was an opportunity to give back. I have found that I have great resolve, have not floundered in my integrity, and have given care with compassion and kindness. In doing so, I have been greatly rewarded.

I'm great at what I do, from experience with so many different aspects of my career. Started as Lna in 2008 and continued my education to Mna and phlebotomy. I wanted to learn more about certain diseases and what happens to our bodies with age. My curiosity pushed me to learn more and take classes in Alzheimer's research and Dementia. To further understand my clients so I could help them the best way possible. Also to meet there needs.
