In addition to my extensive work experience with at risk children and teens, when I was 17 years old, I had the opportunity to gain the experience to care for my grandfather after he had a stroke and again as an adult; I had to care for my mother after she had a stroke until her untimely passing. I have volunteered as a coach in the Jefferson Parish Parks and Recreation Department, was a Sunday school Teacher, volunteered with Habitat for Humanities, and with St. Jude Homeless shelter feeding the homeless. I have been a certified nurse aide for 14 years now, and 13 of those years have been with the elderly. I have through out my career worked in restorative therapy for 2 years, I have worked with MHMR clients and with special needs people, but the elderly have always been my preference. My personal moto and belief is "do unto others as you want done unto you", I take that belief very seriously.
