I am Virginia Board Certified Nursing Assistant with over five years of home health and assisted living care. After raising four children I returned to school and became certified as a Home Health Aid, Nursing Assistant as well as Phlebotomy Tech. I believe that everyone has the right to quality care, and an advocate to ensure they are treated with dignity and respect. Raising four children has taught me that one must always use and implement active listening skills as well as expect the unexpected. I think of myself as a kind-hearted and empathetic person. I always offer words of encouragement and comfort to my residents. I want a career that puts a smile on peoples face when I help them do even the littlest of things like helping with their daily routine or even having a conversation or giving them compliments . For me being a caregiver over the years has helped me improve in being able to address and resolve issues quickly and effectively to ensure my residents health and safety is not compromised.

For the many years that I have been taking care of the military men and women, I have loved the joy and appreciation that they give back. Ive always felt that taking care of people was my calling. I love every aspect of it, everyone you meet has a different story to tell so why not have a reason to spend time with them and listen to who they are. When it comes to caregiving there isn't one thing that i could say i like more than the other, simply because I cherish every moment. When it comes down to being a caregiver I dont look at it as a job, to me its more of taking care of a family member I've never met before.
