About Michael

Being a medical professional is very challenging yet rewarding. This is a career field I accidently stumbled into while joining the military in 2010. I started as an EMT working with Trauma cases for 4 years. In 2014 I decided to do a accelerated nursing program and obtained my LPN licence so I could perform more in-depth long term care. I enjoy working with patients, learning about medical needs, coming up with a plan, following through and seeing results. I don't see being a nurse as a job I have to go to but a career I get to enjoy.

Duties to include professional handling of patient information and confidentiality and medical procedures to consist of NG/G Tube placement and monitoring, catheterization insertion and care, wound care, etc.

As an Emergency Medical Technician working with the 10th combat support hospital my duties included setting up and taking down a 84 bed hospital at any location. I worked in the Emergency Room and performed rapid emergency assessment to Trauma patients. While in this position I performed blood transfusions, phlebotomy to include primary iv placement, ISTAT testing, Trauma care, Wound care, etc.
