Some of my personality traits that would make me a great care giver would be compassion, dependability, patience, trustworthiness and attentiveness. Compassion because I tend to have an understanding of what a person could be going through. Dependability simply because as a mother of three I know first hand how much care is needed on a daily basis and how much the person is counting on it. Patience basically means that plans change and things may not always go as planned and so it is very important to always remain calm and open minded. Trust is something that takes a while to build and only seconds to destroy, that is why trust is something that should never be broken. Attentiveness is also important simply because being being attentive helps me to notice any and all physical and emotional changes surrounding me. What attracted me to being a care giver was when I was in high school, my grandmother who raised me became really I'll and was unable to fully care for herself and so I saw and knew that she needed me. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is that I am able to make a difference, no matter if my time with a patient is short or long, I know in my heart that some how someway I have improved their quality of life and just knowing that I know that I have touched someone. We only have one life to live and that life should never be spent alone. A personal achievement that I am most proud of would have to be my children. They are my life, my world, my everything. There is not a day that doesn't go by that I dont thank the lord up above for blessing me with three beautiful, happy, healthy children, for there are women out there who yearn to have babies and simply can't. So this is why I am beyond blessed and completely grateful.
