I have been a nurse aide/ caregiver for over 10 years now and still currently working with private clients. I had worked with over 20 clients throughout my career most of them had past and some few been transferred in a care home or a facility. I used to have a care home for 10 years with my older sister. We recently gave up on the care home when our last patient for over 10 yrs past away last year. We stop the business since it took so much of our time. Experience on grooming, dressing and toileting, assistance with walking, transfers, turning and repositioning and the use of assistive devices, meal preparation, and feeding or assistance with feeding. I have been providing companionship & activities the client enjoys and performing physical and cognitive exercises, performing light housekeeping, laundry, linen changes, running errands, and shopping for groceries and household supplies. I love what I do because I love helping my clients defy the odds in the comfort on their home.

I believe what makes me a great caregiver is that I can manage pretty much anything. I'm reliable, responsible and can be trusted to use discretion to make the right decisions, when family isn't available. I try to encourage clients to perform mind-stimulating activities such as reading, playing board games, and posting reminders for important tasks in visible areas. I have created scrapbooks with pictures of the client's family to help the client recognize their family members. I am proud to say that I have emotionally supported my clients, hold their hand and find the right words in moments of difficulty. At the same time, I am able to control my own emotions to ensure they do not increase the anxiety of my clients or their loved ones. What I enjoy most about caregiving is meeting new people and getting to know a little about them. Each one is special in their own way and each one is always a learning experience for me, in my personal life skills.
