Making a difference in people's lives has been a passion of mine. My family owned a Nursing Home/Home for the Aged for 36 years. This is were my passion for taken care of people was instilled in me. I worked as a caregiver, cook and handled recreation programs for our residents. Throughout the years I worked for Connecticut Hospice, The Alzheimer's Resource Center, and as a Private Caregiver for children and adults. I had the honor of caring for my Dad and both my Grandmother who all had Alzheimer's. There are many types of Dementia. Training and knowledge is important to understanding the needs of your love ones and clients you care for. This past December I completed training courses for The National Caregiver Certification Program, Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia and 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer's. These certification courses provided me with new ways to communicate with Dementia clients. I make sure the things that are most important to my client are done every shift. This is achieved by asking your priorities, then once they're completed if time allows I do my best to tackle the non-priorities. Compassionate, reliable, punctual, treating everyone with dignity and respect are values I live by.

I am a social and caring person, and also enjoy putting smiles on people's faces, i love the care job so much that i have had a lot of families who communicate and calls me on occasions , even their own celebrations long after their family member that i took of passed, they have become my family too, and personally i can say am more experienced in what i do now after 10 years of experience .

As the caregiver of your loved one I am responsible for the direct care of patients, clients, or residents of the facility or agency or person that and whom I work for. I assist with daily activities, such as dressing, bathing, and eating. I also have a role in keeping them safe and comfortable. I became a nurses aide because I once was a full time Single mother to my special needs daughter (cerebral palsy and quadriplegic). I am a natural nurturer . I believe in giving my patients confidence in range on motion (keep them moving and active )or very comfortable is my motto .

My level of expertise is like no other; Effortlessly, I always go above and beyond for my clients. Ever since the age of five years old when my Mom asked me what I wanted to become and my answer was "Mom, I want to be a Doctor because I want to take care of old people and I love them" and of course she laughed. Years later I ended up in numerous occupations, but at the end I found my way back to nursing (smile)- Need I say more? It gives me great pleasure to listen to the elderly. Moreover, their stories are precious and rare each unique experience that "cannot" be replaced (priceless commodity) and most importantly the joy and knowledge it gives me deep within (humbled). Looking back on all my choices I can honestly say that I have no regrets; Especially, since it has mold my life and made me who I am today. My mother would have been proud of me when I achieved my licensed (CNA) and knowing that it does not stop there since I was already enrolled in a nursing program in College and eventually I will go back since I took a long break after she passed. In conclusion, I love what I do and work for me is (never) work since my passion is caring for the elderly (smile)-

I' m joyful, patient, compassionate and empathic person. I like take care to other and bring joy and happiness in their daily life. I'm committed to my job and to the people which whom I work with My compassion and my vocation to take care with kindness and help. I'm mostly enjoy to see someone condition's condition improve including mental or physical. I also enjoy to see someone smiling and say thank you when I finish my work even though it does not matter much I had opportunity to take care of one of my paient, she was sad and didn't want to collaborate. I built a confident relationship with her. I showed her that, I'm here to help. She started to collaborate and improved a lot. she was happy and learn to cope with the situation.

I have 18 years of caregiver experience. I have a CNA for about 15 years. I started caring for folks because back in Africa, we care for our family members so it has been something in my nature to care for people. When I care for elderly folks, I treat them as if they were my family members. I've worked with all types of senior patients. Most patients have conditions of stroke, dementia, mentally challenged patients, cancer patient, hospice etc.

A little about myself is I have always wanted a career in healthcare no matter what the field is. I love being able to help people. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is being able to put a smile on someone's face and also being basically an extra set of hands. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver is I started off by taking care of my Grandmother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's/Dementia in 2013 and sadly passed away in 2017. I wanted to make a difference in people's lives so I decided to make a career out of it. I take pride in being a caregiver and knowing that I am trusted to help out someone else's loved one. One of my most proudest achievements is completing my EMT Course in two months!

1. I love providing home care giving services to those that would otherwise not be able to do so. The smile on their faces is overwhelming and makes me feel i have done my job right. I have always enjoyed helping people in need, so I know I am doing right thing. 2. Being a caregiver for 13 years has helped me in so many ways, I have worked in hospitals (South Africa), nursing home facilities, private duty. I love what I do in helping each client I've ever worked with. Taking care of sick people that needs my help gives me joy in my heart and it let me know they need people to work with them. 3. Everything i put my mind to, I achieve I'm really self motivated I don't like failing and that's the benefits for me. My biggest achievement I'm proud of is moving here in America. 4. I have a passion for putting others first. Seeing someone with an intellectual disability able to lead a happy, safe and fulfilling life is enough to make it all worthwhile. I'm a hard worker with a positive attitude. When I was seven years old, I always wanted to be a Nurse.

I enjoy taking care of individuals out of love and integrity. I have worked with individual's with brain injuries, hospice care, companionship Alzheimer's or dementia. Training with Hoyalift, wheel chair transfers, shower buddy, standard stander. I have also coached individuals with physical therapy occupational therapy & aquatic therapy I am detail oriented reliable responsible honest trustworthy
