I was an hairstylist for 25 years and loved it with a passion. My mother had a very serious medical condition so I took a leave of absence to care for her and realized that she was more important than doing hair. So I decided to go into the medical field. She needed 24 hr care. So I decided to get my Med aide license and hopefully soon pursue my career in becoming a medical assistant if time allows. But my passion now is the love for people and to care for them. God has blessed me with with a lot of gifts with the use of my hands and a heart to spread around in helping others. I lost my grandma in 2016 she had dementia that took her mind and soul and I also helped taking care of her with the help of hospice and other family members. So caring for individuals is what I do best...

I enjoy the elderly population and having the opportunity to assist them to be able to stay in their own homes with friends and family available to be around them. It is rewarding to me to spend time with individuals and become a companion and friend. About 15 years ago I was able to purchase a large home for my family with a mother-in-law apartment. We all lived there together until she decided to move to a senior living facility. I believe it was the right thing to do and would do it again but you can not also predicted what the other person really wants. I am a caring person who enjoys being around people. I love adventure and new situations. I have learned a lot about myself in the last 3 years as I have enjoyed working as a medication aide and then as the activity director in an assisted living facility.I have extensive training in Alzheimer/dementia care and I have completed training in a program called Powerful Tools for Caregivers. I have in the past worked with the elderly in their home and am looking forward to doing it again.
