in 2007 a close friend of mine needed help with her grandmother. they didn't feel right toileting her and seeing her exposed, so I stepped in and said "ill do it" I was only 17 and I wasn't getting paid for it. the family always suggested i do it as a career and I never took it in to consideration until she past. being that I spent so much time with her and got to know her personally, hearing all her beautiful memories, made me realize how life is about taking care of people and showing them that you care as you would your own grandparents, because unfortunately I never met my own. being a caretaker is by far the best thing I've done with my life, showing someone that has no one or little/busy family that you truly care and adore every moment with them carries there happiness into to late age. this is my seventh year in this field, I've dealt with all cases and been there for clients who had it all to clients who have nothing. just being there and showing someone that you actually care and comforting them makes me know and feel that I am actually put on this earth to take care of people. I come from a family of twelve being number seven and having parent who are in there fifties and diabetic and siblings who are younger then me, it gave me the experience of family love and nurturing for people in need. Im only twenty three years old and I've been working with the elderly since I was 17. helping people is my desire.
