Hi there. My name is Vanessa. I enjoy being a caregiver because I enjoy helping others. I am quirky, personable, outgoing, positive, down to earth, eager to learn and grow, and easy to communicate with. I learn quickly.

When I was young , being a help to others wa s very important to me. Witnessing suffering when I could make a difference was the reason for my choice to be a Medical Professional and I went to college to be a Registered Respiratory Therapist. I worked in the Heart Clinic at St Luke's Regional Medical Ctr in Boise Idaho, the Heart Transplant unit in Salt Lake City, Utah; and an LTAC Center in the San Francisco area for individuals who were difficult to wean off the ventilator and move on with their lives. A very rewarding history and it was a joy to see each patient go home with a new lease on life and move forward.

I am prior military. While attending grossmont college, I was the president of the student veterans organization. I thought it would be a great idea, back in 2008, to have our veterans go into the community and help in assisted living facilities and skilled nursing facilities. After seeing how short staffed, over worked, under paid, and how these patients felt, I knew I needed to help. My children and I would paint their nails, do their hair, play bingo, assist in sporting events like the, in-house Kentucky Derby, with stick horses, play music, feed them and provide comfort during the holidays, make mobiles for patients one their ceilings, for the ones that could not get out of bed, and provide comfort for so many people that do not have family or friends to visit them.

I am very caring. I'm a hard worker, and I dont like to give up. If I don't understand or dont know something I ask questions to make sure I'm doing it right. I am quick to learn. I love being a caregiver mostly because i like to make sure they are comfortable and stress free. I want to make sure they are safe. I want their family to know they are taken care of, so they don't stress as well. I have achieved many things but being able to be there for my patients is my personal achievement that I am proud of. When they know I will be there for them even when they are surrounded by support or family, I love that they can always have me around to help the patient/family out.

Since leaving school I have always enjoyed being around people, I enjoy helping people and making their days better. My mother had Multiple Sclerosis and I was her carer before she moved into a nursing home. I am able to care for someone needing assistance with their daily activities; be that bathing, grooming, feeding, going to appointments or companionship, and many other things as needed. If you have animals, then that is just fine with me; I love all animals very much.

I'm super loving and compassionate. on time for all jobs. I truly love helping people. Safety is a huge concern to me. I'm very trustworthy. I am licensed by the state of California. All my clients become family to me. You will become family to me as well :)

I am an active, outgoing young adult that loves good conversation and living positively. I believe everyone has the right to a respectful environment and honesty is the best policy. I've been known to be a very kind soul and I enjoy meeting new people with different backgrounds. Although I may not have a degree in nursing, I believe I make up for it in work ethic and positive attitude. What's attracting me to become a caregiver are the unforgettable moments I can share with the person I am taking care of. Whether it be a story, a smile, or simply a fun game or show that made us chuckle. I am an accomplished athlete so those are some of my proudest accomplishments.
