About Erica

i became a live-in caregiver for a woman that was a friend and she needed help . so for 15 months I assisted her with daily activities , assisted with baths,getting dressed, light cooking & housework , prepared medications .she died months later . I also was my mom`s primary caregiver for 27 months and she had Alzheimer`s & Dementia . i was a regular homemaker with housework,cooking, laundry , assisted with baths and getting dressed , exercise , communication , prepared medications, went with her to her dr visits and i was a good daughter/caregiver . I have patience . I am a kind , caring ,and compassionate person when it comes to helping the elderly and sometimes they need a little extra help . My passion in life is to help others . I think of myself as a good person with a big heart and I put other peoples` feelings before my own . Being a caregiver is all i know . With having 3- 3 1/2 of volunteer experience of caregiving i want to share what i know ,but i would like to learn more about caring for others ..

I understand that when you are care giver in someone home that you have to respect the home and the family. I am proud that I worked with our elders to help ease this transition of this like phase. I am a 48 year old female . I am the mother of 2 and the grandmother of one. I am a member of the PTA at my grandsons school. I also volunteer with his Boy Scout troop. I also take the time once a month to visit nursing homes and walk through just to speak with the residents for a moment just so they know someone cares . It's not all about the money for me. I take my time to make sure all mt patients needs are met even if that is something as simple as listening to them and their family. These are some of the things that I feel make me a great caregiver. I love people not matter what race or what medical problems they may have. To care for others makes me feel great. I feel like that is my purpose in life
