I'm very compassionate when it comes to taking care of my patient's and I'm an excellent listener. I have been in the health career for fifteen years and I'm currently in the nursing program at Richland Community College to become an RN. I would like to help someone in there home that needs help with activities of daily living because I feel it's important to manage care at home, where they feel the most comfortable. I enjoy the compassion it takes to be a good caregiver and I enjoy helping others. My personal achievement that I'm proud of is I continue to love the nursing field and I love the opportunity to be able to grow and learn different areas of nursing and home care is one that I feel I will enjoy as well.

Hello Im updating my profile as I have been away from Homecare and caregiving for a few years. Due to lack of having any home care clients I took a retail job, that helped paid the bills, well after eight years that job is no more and decided to move in a different direction. So why would I make a good caregiver 1. I have patience, Im kind, caring, reliable and understanding. I enjoy making a difference at the end of the day 2. I can do basic housekeeping, be a companion, and help the person feel at ease. Im a good listener who is willing to talk if they wish. 3. I don't want to get too personal here, but I helped take care of my dad when he was battling Parkinsons disease as I sat with him, got him meals, something to drink or helped get dressed or just sat by his bedside watching TV and talking when he was in hospice. He has since passed away.... 4.I worked as an Activity Assistant in a skilled nursing home and felt such a joy making residents smile whether making popcorn, putting in a movie, or calling bingo. That was one of the best jobs I ever had. 5. I grew up volunteering in a nursing home from my teenage years all through high school and loved every minute of it 6. Now Im in my late 50s and this is what Im passionate about so please consider me as I need income as I live alone. I've also been a DORS PA since 2012 and have remained on their list since then 7. Im most proud of that Ive remained the kind, caring, compassionate person that I remain to this day. I don't know if I can pick a personal achievement, that Im most proud of, but I was lucky to spend time with my dad when he declined. I miss just holding his hand and talking to him even though he slept most of the time. I want to honor his memory by making a difference in the lives of others.
