Hello there, Here is a little bit about myself. My name is Lana and I have been passionate about nursing and taking care of others since I was 7 years old. Growing up, I had a sick mother who has always been under medical care and it is since then I had an opportunity to be in contact with doctors and learn much about the healthcare field. I graduated with a nursing diploma over 20 years ago, and have been taking care of a wide arrange of senior citizens for 11 years in Chicagoland area. My most experience is live-in and live-out senior care of elderly with diabetes, dementia, Alzheimer's, etc. I am dependable and flexible provider of physical and emotional care to the elderly. Single mom of a teenager Started caregiving 6 years ago The people I have met has made me a stronger person and I love what I do, love the variety of people I have met , but in this job you have to be very patient and know how to deal with a lot of challenges and behaviors, are jobs aren't easy and you have to deal with stressful situations and know how to deal with them , every year we have to take are annual Training and refresher courses, my main specialty is Dementia and Alzheimer's disease, but that's why I love my job to help people and sometimes they need to someone to talk too, or just a shoulder to cry on, being a single parent makes me stronger in doing my job and know I have someone to live for and help older clients in there daily lives and endeavors.

I am experienced, respectable, honest, reliable and extremely responsible.

Summer Update [?]: I am free and available for the entire summer until day after Labor Day, in which afterwards, I go back to my schedule below. After Labor Day Availability: I am available late evenings, overnight til 4am w/sleep, & some weekends can be negotiated. What makes me a great caregiver is my patience and ability to take the lead to discern when a situation needs action or not. I have had many clients whose demands were very different but I adjusted right away bc I do understand the need for each person to have dignity and still feel as though they have a level of independence. I have serviced those as young as 38 with terminal cancer to those who were a mature age of 88 with heart, mobility, and respiratory issues, dementia, Alzheimer's, and bed-ritten, so I am well-rounded. I am a mother of 2 boys now young men and I am married but I have still devoted countless hours for my clients, even living in with them 24/7 and working 12 to 24 hour days, 7 days a week. I do not mind at all. I am gracious and love people too much. I will be a promising catch.

I enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where i have one-on-one interaction with others. I enjoyed taking care of elder family members and would like to help others in this way. I like older adults and feel i can get along well with a variety of elders. I like doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life. I like doing a variety of tasks in a day. I don't ever say, "that's not my job" but instead like pitching in to do whatever is needed. I like making someone smile and doing little things to make a person's day better. I take pride in your attention to detail. I don't want a desk job; I like being physical in my job and using my body as well as my brain.

Americare, compassionate care inc their rates for clients care averages $35 to 50 per hour depending on type of care needed. It has been my privilege to lovingly care for elderly people with dementia, starting with my mother-in-law. I enjoy entering their world and showing them the dignity, respect and gentle care our elders should have. I have become the trusted companion of each person I’ve cared for, and have served several of them for years at a time. Support for the family of the person I am companion to is a special part of my ministry. I am currently a part-time seminary student and simply love people. My desire is to bring joy and wisdom in caregiving to those I serve.
