Care for severely handicap 19 yr old male. He is totally dependent on others: diaper changing, feeding, dispense his medications, bath/personal care and companionship. He spends his day either sitting in his wheelchair or on the floor, so I get on the floor with him and love on him as much as I can. He is a very loving and lovable young man who loves back rubs and being talked to. He is very personable, even though he is unable to communicate. He is always happy and smiling. My heart loves helping others and making sure they are taken care of and treated with integrity. I do not care for him full time, only occasionally and sometimes over night. He is a very big boy, as I do not transfer him to vehicles or into the tub.

As a Patient Access/Revenue Cycle Float, I travel to one of 6 locations in the Peoria area. The Lighthouse was a discipleship home, created by local Christians of various denominations, united by the vision of offering women being released from prison a supportive Christian environment and the assistance needed to successfully reintegrate them back into society. We are strictly supported by donations of faith. I customized a circle of support for each resident in areas that they need help in, such as Bible study, discipleship, job skills, managing finances, developing healthy relationships, transportation and legal issues. I also interviewed all the ladies in their prison settings as potential residents as well as all volunteers for our program. I was also on our Board of Directors. Just to mention a few of my responsibilities: I flew to Mexico to become a Missionary with Tecate International Cash handling Transportation for residents to all meeting and appointments Build relationships with the ladies parole officers and social workers and meet with them on a regular basis Speaking engagements and presentations regarding our program Scheduling all volunteers and mentors Attending court dates and hearing for the residents Administering UA's and Breathalyzer tests and send to lab when necessary finger stick blood test to check sugar levels, take blood pressure and dispense medications Working with patients from all diversified cultures and back grounds.
