I became interested in caregiving when I first worked in a nursing home doing housekeeping. I saw how nurses neglected the residents and hated it! I became more interested when I was given the opportunity to care for a man who couldn't be mobile due to robbers beating him up.. I made his meals, did his laundry, houeswork, and fed his dog. I also gave him piece of mind enough to sleep. For the first time in months, he slept a full twelve hours in bed (he'd been sleeping in a chair).
