Hi there! My names Sarah Simon, and I'm 56, married to my wonderful husband Ron, and we have two children, Chris and Dustin. I spent the majority of my career working in the accounting field. In 2013 my eldest son was needing to undergo a double lung and liver transplant, so Chris and myself were forced to move to St. Louis to be within range of the hospital. A year and a half later, and after my son's transplant being a success, we were able to move back home to Garden Plain. Once home and looking for new jobs, I decided that it was time to find something new. I wanted to find a job where I could make a difference in the life of someone else rather than punching numbers into a calculator. I decided that the perfect job for me to do was to become a home care-giver. It allows me to help others who may not be able to help themselves, but my favorite facet of the job is simply the companionship that I can give to a patient, and also that I can find a new friend in all of my patients. The most special thing about my job is that I get to know the patients on a personal level just by being able to provide care and spending time with them.
