When I started out as a caregiver it was basically just a job. But taking care of my client it didn't feel like a job anymore. I was told years ago that I should be caregiver because I have the patience and love of a caregiver. Taking care of him was more like taking care of a family member. I've had plenty of different jobs and didn't really like my job. But I really love what I do as a caregiver and plan on continuing. I feel like this is my calling and where god really wants me. I miss my client but I know he in a better place and out of pain. There were times he wouldn't eat so we couldn't give him medicine. I would find a way for him to eat some soup then he could have medicine. At the end he refuse to eat or drink anything and I was only one who could get him to drink water. It hurt getting the phone call saying he was gone. I almost started looking for different job so I wouldn't get close and love another client. But when you find something you love you stick with it no matter what and I really love and enjoy being a caregiver. If i'm taking care of your love one I promise to give them the love and attention I would want someone to give mine.
