Patient, nurturing, attentive, responsible, positive, and dedicated. I grew up in Baton Rouge where I enjoyed spending many weekends volunteering and visiting nursing homes as well as spending time with my father's special education students. I am the oldest of 4 children and took on the role of a caregiver at a young age. I'm married to a Navy veteran and years ago in between moving from San Diego, CA to my husband's new duty station in Jacksonville, FL, I was able to spend several months living with, caring for, and helping my grandmother recover following a stroke. That experience really inspired me to start working as a caregiver in Florida before becoming a stay-at-home mother to my son when he was born. I then spent some years working at my son's school before eventually homeschooling my son. Caregiving has been continuous throughout my life and comes naturally to me. I enjoy spending time with seniors, hearing their stories, and being able to help make their lives better or easier even if it's just in a small way. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, painting, spending time in nature, and quality time with my family.
