I'm a down-to-earth nurse I love the simplest things. Like reading drawing listening to music. Sometimes dancing. I love talking to the residence because I get to know more about their lives about how they were when they were younger what they like what they dislike. I wanted to be a care giver because I love helping out the elderly as if they are my own grandparents since I don't have any grandparents. The things that I enjoy the most about being a caregiver is that bond that I form with them. That homie feeling of having the love of a grandparent. A Personal Achievement that I am most proud of is that I was able to help a late resident have a special moment with a loved one that they haven't seen for almost 20 years. That joy that I saw in her eyes when she saw that loved one made it worthwhile that I chose the right career.

I come in I get the resident up and perform Personal Care on each resident. Make sure they're dressed and washed. Then prepare their breakfast lunch and dinner. Then give them their medication for the morning evening and night. And I clean each room and the dining area which is the kitchen where they have eaten clean the bathrooms mop the floors. I make sure their rooms are clean the bed sheets have been changed and the laundries have been washed.

I go in the morning I do my rounds then I start passing out medications making sure all of the resident on each floor is getting their medication on time and the right medication and the right patient. Then after that I help out on the floor with whatever the caregivers need, like helping in the dining room, helping them with the laundress, making sure the residents are being changed. Then I go back on the cart and make sure they get their insulins, checking their blood sugar. Then I help out with the activities for the residents like Bingo, music night, trivia, things like that. And sometimes I also accompany the residents when they go shopping.

I have done volunteer in the activities and hostility areas at nursing/rehabilitation center. My career has being in the computer areas but my heart have been caring for other. Before God decide to take my 97 years old mother home, I took care of all personal needs. I have worked for Carelinx since November 2015 and the first client I cared for was a 99 year young woman and she enrich my life., She was more than just a client. she became my family.
