I am 26 i live in the Washington metro area. I became interested in being a care giver at 15, when I seen my grandmother go through a brain tumor surgery successfully. After she recovered i be gained taking care of her learning different techniques to get her to eat, learning her diet helping her walk. At 18 i ventured out and be gained volunteering at a nursing home near by my neighborhood there i fixed patients lunch dinner breakfast i delivered it to there rooms, i got them dressed out of bed everyday took care of there personal hygiene. That is were i discovered I wanted to do this forever. Oh how humble this profession makes you and very mindful on how you treat others one achievement i am proud of during my years of experience is convincing a 80 year old woman to get out the bed and go out side to the park with me. You see she had not been outside as far as to a doctor's appointment for over 4 years. I stayed with her and cared for everyday I told her that going out side an seeing the birds and water was very soothing it took me about 20 times. Then one day she called me on the phone as i was on my way to her and she said take me outside today, I said sure but what changed she said a young lady that I know who has never let me down or lied to me said it would be worth my time.
