I became a caregiver because I did not want to work in main stream Healthcare anymore. My passion is helping seniors the way they and their family's want to be cared for without Healthcare systems making the choices for their care. I worked as a physical therapy assistant for 27 years. The last 8 were in a rehabilitation department at a skilled nursing facility. I have enjoyed the last 9 years doing private home care as a caregiver. Helping individuals live their lives with dignity, safety and loving care.

After being in the veterinary field for 20 years, I've gained a level of comfortability with all things clinical and medical. I have an extensive amount of experience ranging from cancers to dementias to end of life and so much more. I would be happy to share. I am also an advocate, friend and offer support for both the patient and family. The expectations and standards I set for myself are: 1) Dignity and respect 2) When I walk into someone's home, I'm walking into their world. I dont expect them to walk into mine. Its about them and their needs. 3) Everyone is an individual. Same diagnosis does not mean the same kind of care. My care is based on the individual and their wants and needs. 4) Patience and being a great listener. How else will I know what is needed and wanted. I have provided care for many people. My patience, my listening skills, and my care for the residents, I think makes me a great caregiver! I worked in a kitchen for 12 years at a nursing home and knew I could proved more for the residents then just serving meals and making them coffee, also I took care of my mother the last 6 months of her life and that alone made a huge change in my career path! I enjoy the conversations the residents have with me. I love hearing their life stories about their kids and grandkids! I enjoy waking up knowing that I'm going to make their day or they are going to make mine. I'm a proud mother of two young children!

I always enjoyed helping senior citizens out. I always try and put my best foot forward. During my shift i want to make my client feel extremely comfortable and satisfied with my work ethics.
