I built a house in Sparta Township where I live with my wife. I retired from Tool Die 2010 because of cancer. Then I started volunteering at Rest Haven Homes which ended up in a paid position. I do transportation to doctor appointments, dentist appointments, shopping, movies, out to eat, visit a friend, errands, or travel, I also do in home care with dressing assistance, mobility, exercise, meal planning, and preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, etc. I have completed classes on Hospice Care, Dementia, and worked at Rest Haven Homes for 12 years, and 3 1/2 years with Leaves Personal Care.

I currently am employed for 8 hours a week, plus occasional subbing at True Blue Caregivers as in home elder care. I have worked with adults with Parkinson disease as well as other chronic illnesses. I do things like driving to help shop. Walk dogs. Drive to appointments. Light housework, like laundry and dishwashing, bed making. Remind and give meds. Prepare simple meals. Companion for walks etc. I have also done overnights with seniors in hospice care. I have worked with men and women with slight to severe dementia with patience and understanding and kindness. I m capable, dependable and caring. I have 6 children of my own the youngest is in her teens. I m a visual artist. I enjoy dance classes and nature walks. I homeschooled my children for many years. I really love elder care and chronic illness care - it is fulfilling to help people remain as independent as they can be for as long as they can.
